Problem With Your Pump?
Sump pumps are important to keep your home dry and free from ground water. They are usually located in basements or crawl spaces, and they often go unnoticed or, at least, unchecked. Some sump pumps remove the ground water via either a pipe or a hose to empty either on the lawn or out to the street or to the municipal drainage system. Some sump pumps are also used to eliminate dirty laundry “grey water” from washing machines and utility sinks and are tied to the home’s sewer system.
Ejector pumps are used for other waste water including showers, toilet, and sinks in basements. These units, unlike sump pumps, can remove solid waste in addition to liquids.
Things to check are the age of your pump. Pumps should be replaced every 6-8 years or at the recommendation of the manufacturer. If you detect strange sounds… or no sound at all… you might have a problem with your pump. In the case of sump pumps, if you notice water rising over the basin, you likely have a problem with the pump or you have a blockage in the drain line out of the house. In the case of ejector pumps, if you notice bad smells, leaking water, or flooding, contact a pro ASAP.
What We Do
DRC Plumbing and Sewer can come to the rescue. A failing sump pump can be a big problem, but it’s one we solve all the time. You can rest assured that we will install a high-quality sump pump in your home and properly install all of the pluming according to municipal code.
DRC highly recommends using Zoeller pumps. They are American-made and have been manufacturing high quality sump pumps and ejector pumps for over 80 years. We test and guarantee the quality of our work so you can rest at ease.
We work with homeowners to adequately plan their basement bathroom facilities with the right size and power ejector pumps too.
Ask us about our sump-pump battery back-up systems. When the power goes out in your home, you can experience flooding. A battery back-up ensures that your sump will continue to kick on even if the rest of the home has no electricity. DRC highly recommends PHCC Pro Series Battery Back-Up Systems.
